MEET THE CREW!
They say every picture tells a story. We believe a great picture has the ability to bring that story to life and move the audience in powerful ways. While Salt Paper is a full service still and motion imagery studio, we are first and foremost visual storytellers who capture the power of a moment or the beauty of a product or location. We bring big budget production experience to any size shoot, allowing companies and non-profits of any size access to engaging visual content and a dynamic team of creators and producers.
WE ARE SALT PAPER STUDIO. WE’LL BRING YOUR STORY TO LIFE.
Courtney Swift-Copeland, owner / producer
Courtney has been shooting professionally for 13 years. Her career started off small while enrolled in the Commercial Photography program at the Savannah College of Art and Design. After graduation, she worked her way up and down the East Coast. She has lived and worked in several places from Manhattan to Charlotte, and is now settled in Rock Hill, SC. Here she has decided to continue what she loves (ahem, commercial photography) and do it in a way that values the artist and their craft just as the client is valued. Give us a ring and she’ll pick up the phone! No really, please call, she loves to talk shop with anyone willing to listen…
alexis howard, studio manager / retoucher
Alexis and Courtney met in 2016 when Courtney was asked to guest critique her studio lighting class at Winthrop University. Alexis graduated with a BFA in Commercial Photography later that year, and the rest is history! Currently at Salt Paper, Alexis is applying her skills as our Retoucher and Studio Manager. In her free time, she is an active member of the local arts community, exhibiting in just about every show she enters. She also enjoys documenting art for student and professional fine artists alike. She truly is a staple here at the studio and we would absolutely be lost without her.
Justin Copeland, co-owner / operations manager
In many ways, Justin is the backbone of this entire operation. With all of these creative brains in one place, we need someone to be, well, a little more analytical and Justin is that guy for us. Accompanying his financial intelligence and business sense are some pretty darn good hand skills. Justin is our go-to guy for set building and studio maintenance. Need a wall? Justin. A custom frame? Justin. A half bath, kitchen, or built in cabinet? JUSTIN.
Chelsea Kimrey, STYLIST
Chelsea came to the team about 3 years ago as our hair and makeup artist and we just couldn’t let her go. She is a woman of many talents; hair and makeup, set and wardrobe styling just to name a few. She’s also great with kids! We’re trying to expand her portfolio to include “child wrangler” (you should see her in action). Chelsea is sought after by every client she works with, and it comes as no surprise to us. A day on set with Chelsea is a guaranteed good day and we are so thankful to have her as a part of our team.
Sam Walton, ASSISTANT PHOTOGRAPHER / digital tech
Sam is our new kid on the block, tapping in just about half way through 2018 to help with some of our larger shoots. Sam has quite the personality (as if you can’t tell from his shirt), loves a good cup of coffee from Knowledge Perk, and is super fun to be around. His personal work includes everything from video to film photography, digital studio stills (obviously) and some pretty great photo manipulation work.
SAIGE Copeland, STUDIO PUP
Saige is a good girl. Most days you’ll find her laying around the studio, chewing on an antler or playing guard dog at the front door. Saigey is extremely friendly, great with children and adults, and gets really excited when you ask her to be in a picture. We’ve been working hard on her modeling skills, so if anyone out there needs a fluffy white husky, she’s your girl! Just dial us up and ask for Saige.
